We're thrilled to announce that our school has achieved remarkable success at the recent Model UN Conference! We had 16 high school students and 16 middle school students participating, and we won awards in both categories.
On September 19, 2024, King Abdullah Academy along with Virginia communities participated in a live broadcast titled Commonwealth Conversation on Cell Phones and Social Media.
Senior Jenna Naffa was one of 27 recipients of a 2024 Student Peace Award of Fairfax County honored at a reception on March 10. Rep. Gerry Connolly introduced a Resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives listing all the recipients and recognizing them as “active in promoting peace or removing the causes of conflict.”
KAA students completed their participation in VIMUNC XI (the Langley High School MUN Conference) with remarkable success, securing seven awards. Additionally, our students exhibited exemplary behavior throughout the event, as evidenced by the absence of complaints and the lack of need for disciplinary action.
On February 15th, our school had the privilege of hosting author Natalie Lorenzi, known for her captivating novels "Flying the Dragon" and "A Long Pitch Home".
To raise awareness about Big Cat conservation, and to encourage everyone to get active, KAA students and staff participated in “Catwalk” event, outdoor walk at the school’s track, on Thursday February 8, 2024.
On Sunday, January 7th, three KAA students competed in the American Legion Post 270 Oratorical Contest in McLean. They were Tim Hakim (11th Grade); Zaina Naffa (10th Grade); and Sarah Selim (10th Grade).
